Tips to Review Records: When in double, skip it! If you can't read a name, don't worry about skipping it. Do your best! Type in the name as best as you can Find similar characters Compare the letter shapes from words that you know to identify those that are harder to recognize. Check for additional highlighting When a person has multiple names, the highlighting may all appear on one line, or it may continue on the next line or page, scroll around to make sure you get all the highlights. Type all names With compound names, type all names that are highlighted. No need to hyphenate If you are reviewing a name that breaks across lines, you don't need to add a hyphen. Abbreviated names Type in the full name even if it is abbreviated. Some names like Mria or William are sometimes abbreviated as Ma. or Wm. Have additional questions about Indexing?
